Why Chile?
For those who have visited Chile, the answer to the question “ Why Chile ”?, or why travel to Chile ? is obvious. However, for those who have not had that magical Chile experience yet, we will do our best to try to get across a sense of what the country is all about as well as some Chile facts and figures.
In answer to the question Why Come to Chile?, lets start with some rhetorical questions:

Have you ever wondered what some parts of this planet were like thousands of years ago before the forests were cut down, roads were laid, and man built sprawling concrete cities?
In Chile you can see and experience what it used to be like before we, mankind, ruined it all. In some areas it will feel like you have been transported back to the dawn of time and the era of the dinosaurs!

Have you ever looked up at the night sky and been blown away by the sight of so many stars that their combined brightness is simply dazzling?
In Chile you can see the incredible sight of billions of Milky-Way stars from the dark night sky in the northern desert that are not visible from Northern-Hemisphere cities because of the light pollution there. You can also see the universe through astronomical observatories in a number of locations in its northern Chile Atacama desert region.

Have you ever touched a tree that began to grow over three thousand years ago?
In Chile you can see and touch the famous Alerce trees beside the Carretera Austral, some of which date back thousands of years. Imagine, these trees began to grow before Christ was born.

Have you ever seen glaciers that are tens of thousands of year’s old, piercing sapphire-blue in colour that flow down from the mountains, meet the ocean or a lake and then sheer off into giant floating icebergs?
In Chile Patagonia in Torres del Paine, San Rafael Glacier and along the Carretera Austral you can see these stunningly-beautiful and awesome sights.

Have you ever seen an active, snow capped volcano - and climbed it?
In Chile you can see many volcanoes, including active ones and climb to the summit in both the north and southern regions especially close to San Pedro de Atacama, Villarica Volcano at Pucon and Osorno Volcano near Puerto Varas.

Have you ever seen a beautifully-preserved mummified human body dating back 7,000 years?
In Chile you can see such historical sights in its Atacama Desert region in San Pedro de Atacama and near Arica.

Have you ever really experienced pure outstanding natural wilderness that is NOT overrun by hordes of other visitors?
In Chile you can still experience such places without the “masses”.

Have you eaten freshly-caught sea food washed down with a glass of the best Chilean Sauvignon Blanc wine whilst admiring the changing colours of the sun as it sets majestically behind the vast Pacific Ocean on a warm summers evening?
In Chile you can.
Of course there is also the freshest sea food. Lobster from the Juan Fernandez Islands, Tuna from Easter Island, Spider Crab from Punta Arenas, Salmon from Puerto Montt, Oysters from Chiloe, Razor Clams from the northern beaches, Abalones, clams, mussels …. It’s all in Chile.

Have you ever sipped cocktails on a warm summers evening on a roof terrace whilst looking in astonishment at the beautiful white moon as it rises up over the towering Andes mountains?
In Chile you can experience this incredible sight from the roof-top terrace of a Santiago restaurant.

Have you ever tasted a great meal with the freshest-tasting vegetables, delicious fruit and top-quality wine all produced from the one country?
In Chile you can.

Maybe you love your wine?
Well, in Chile you can visit numerous wineries in some of the best wine valleys in the World and experience the aromas and tastes of the wine at source amid stunning geographical scenery.

If you have done none of the above, or very few, then Chile will offer you truly amazing life-awakening sights and experiences all found in one country that you will find difficult to get anywhere else in the World. A ribbon of land 4,300 km long and only 180 km wide at its widest point, cut off by the Andes mountains to the east and the Pacific ocean to the west and, thankfully, still undeveloped (apart from Santiago, which is very modern). Chile is a magical wilderness, a safe country to visit and where, if you go to the right places you will feel "alive" possibly for the first time in your life, so let us show you an amazing country - come and experience Chile.

It is an incredible country to explore if you like geography, wilderness and seeing nature at its most beautiful. It has a modern infrastructure, developed cities and friendly people.
