Wine Tours Chile
Due to the unique combination of Andes Mountains, Pacific Ocean, and the varying climatic regions and soil types, Chile has become a world leader in producing excellent varietal wines. Especially good are the red varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Carmenere; and in whites the Sauvignon Blanc, which can be exceptional, but the Chardonnay. However, there are also a number of other varieties that are also being successfully produced and, more recently, wine producers have been blending varieties to produce wines of note-worthy quality.
The main wine activity takes place close to Santiago in valleys such as the Maipo, Casablanca and Colchagua. Although there are also other, smaller wine valleys further north and further south from Santiago.
We can arrange visits to wineries in each of the valleys mentioned, varying from the more historical and traditional winery to the latest state-of-the-art “James Bond” film-set type!
We can arrange day tours or mini itineraries that take in a few nights – especially recommended for the Colchagua valley, where accommodation options include a stay on a winery; in a colonial-style hotel by the plaza in Santa Cruz; in a bed and breakfast in the country side and in an historical, adobe-built old nunnery.
If we arrange your tour to the right wineries you will enjoy an exceptional cultural experience, the opportunity to taste excellent wines and the chance to see things you will likely have never see before.
We can also arrange exceptional wine experiences such as a private visit to a horse stud, which is also part of the winery and lunch on the terrace under the summer sun with views down over the lush-green vines below.
The above can be on its own or as part of your wider travel itinerary.
Just let us know.
