History of Experience Chile

This site is part of our overall South American travel offering connected to ExperienceChile.Org. This, in turn, is administered by Experience Travel Group LLC. The company registered in the United States, although the principal share holder and owner Charles Hallifax, a British national who lives in Santiago, Chile. Charles has lived and worked in Chile since 1989. Initially arriving to Chile for a new experience after launching, publishing and then selling UK national skiing magazine called “The Skier”.

Brief History of Charles Hallifax in Chile

Upon arrival to Chile he was appointed the Managing Editor at the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham Chile). After a few years as head of the publishing department at AmCham he set up a publishing company specialising in hotel, restaurant and tourist-information guides. In addition, Charles represented Reed Elsevier Plc in South America. It was the hotel guide that then became the first hotel web portal in South America, which then morphed into ExperienceChile.Org. In particular, this was a company dedicated to creating custom travel itineraries based upon direct personal knowledge of the local hotels and suppliers at the destinations offered.

The Experience Chile Ethos

Many companies do not have an ethos. We do. The ethos instilled into the staff, which is the corner stone to our product offering, has always been to offer a travel design that is not only personal and friendly, but is based upon good, local information. We maintain this knowledge up to date via personal inspection trips to hotels and suppliers. It should be said that we are not trying to be the cheapest, but we do aim to be the most professional. Our service is administered by Charles Hallifax and a team of competent, local staff based in Santiago and Patagonia. In addition, we work together with partners based in Argentina, Bolivia and Peru.

We can also arrange custom-designed itineraries with complete discretion for A-list celebrities. Also for other VIP´s and clients who demand privacy – including a security detail if required. Your Options

You have a number of options when it comes to making your travel arrangements. For eample, various companies offering to make this or that itinerary. On the other hand, you can of course just do all the work yourself. However, there is only one company with the history (coming up to thirty six years), the local presence, with resident local knowledge, managed by a British national and that is us – ExperienceChile.Org.

Being a British-run operation also means that Charles, and his staff, understand you and your needs. And perhaps one of the main reasons to use a company with actual offices at the destination, is because we are here should you need local support during your trip.
