Introduction
The Alto Melimoyu, not to be confused with another lodge called Melimoyu (which is located west out of La Junta) is located just off the main Carretera Austral road roughly halfway along as the road bypasses the village.
The lodge is, effectively, a large private house with ten guest rooms.
It is built in the lodge style with natural wood and stone.
About
The Alto Melimoyu Lodge is a small boutique lodge offering ten welcoming, cosy rooms. There is also an exterior hot tub, sauna, fireplace living room, restaurant, and laundry service.
Where is Alto Melimoyu Lodge
The Carretera Austral road crosses over a bridge then continues straight, in a line, that bypasses La Junta village. Travelling from the north to the south the Alto Melimoyu Lodge is about halfway along the straight section on the left.

The Rooms
Alto Melimoyu offers ten guest bedrooms, each with central heating. The natural wood-panelled walls together with soft lighting and well-chosen colours combine to create a warm and cosy ambience.
Rooms are named after native trees.
Tenío and Luma Rooms
- Quadruple rooms with capacity for up to four guests. Digital TV, central heating, Wi-Fi and private bathrooms.
Canelo, Mañío, Arrayan and Ciprés Rooms
- Single or double beds (matrimonial) with 2 large beds and private bathrooms.
Coigüe Room
- Double bed (matrimonial) and private bathrooms.
Alerce, Lenga and Araucaria Rooms
- Superior double rooms (matrimonial) with private bathrooms. Also with built-in hairdryers, safes, King Size bed and 40” digital TV.
