About
Cumbres Lastarria has been built as a modern hotel occupying the space of where there used to be the original, much older, buildings. Constructing the hotel from scratch has enabled a fresh, modern and clean design to be implemented into the hotel.
This in turn allows for spacious, contemporary guest rooms, but in a classic style.
Cumbres Lastarria is called so because it is located right in the middle of the historically cultural neighbourhood of Lastarria. Here, there are older style, historic buildings resembling a French style from the 19th Century with small, narrow streets and “individual” buildings of character.
Within walking distance to the Universidad de Catolica metro stop on line one, as well as Santiagos’ Fine Arts Museum called Bellas Artes and a little further afield the man central plaza of Santiago centre as well as the Moneda Palace, which is the seat of the presidency. Also, within walking distance is the district called Bellavista, from where there is a funicular train to take people up to the top of Santa Lucia Hill where there is a statue of the Virgin Mary overlooking the capital.
In the same street where the hotel is located there are a number of restaurants, bars and even a cinema specialising in artistic film showings.
Each of the seventy guest rooms at Cumbres Lastarria are spacious, well designed and decorated in a classical style. Uniquely are the wooden bed heads with Chilean art illustrating aspects of Chile’s history.
