Introduction
The accommodation styles in the Aysen Region of Chile, where the southern sector of the Carretera Austral passes through varies from hotel to lodge, rustic lodge and luxury lodge.
Here at Experience Chile, we try to know, first-hand, as many accommodation options as possible.
We do not, and cannot, depend on what is published in the internet because property feels that they are “the best”, which often, is just not the case.
We carry out regular inspection visits with a view to knowing what the accommodation on offer is really like. In many situations we stay overnight in order to get as good idea as possible about what it is like to stay overnight in a particular hotel, lodge or cabin.
You will see in this accommodation section that we have divided the accommodation options in a way that we feel best categorises each accommodation option. In addition we have stipulated if the property has been “inspected” and / or “approved” by us. If a hotel has not been inspected, it means only that. If a place has not received our “approved” label it just means that we do not feel we cannot “overly recommend” that place, but it may be perfectly good.
NOTE: You may well have a particular hotel, or lodge, that is not shown in our listings. If this is the case, PLEASE tell us what and where this hotel is, and we will include it in your itinerary.

Featured Hotels
Some hotels we have included in our featured category. This is because these hotels offer something special comprising one or more of these attributes: style, comfort, location, uniqueness, and general feeling. This does NOT mean that these hotels are ALL luxury level.

Good Level Hotels
We define a “good level” hotel as being a place that does not merit, yet, being in the luxury nor “top, or high end” level of accommodation. Good level means a perfectly decent, comfortable hotel.

Mid Level Hotels
Our “mid level” category is a hotel that could be better, but is not bad either. Usually these properties are “practical” more than providing any particular characteristic that would push it into a higher category. Therefore it is in-between good and “could be better” ie “mid level”, but nevertheless will provide acceptable accommodation.
