Self-Drive the Carretera Austral, Coyhaique to Puerto Montt

Introduction

The route of the Carretera Austral between Coyhaique to Puerto Montt is approximately 765km. In-between the start and end points are a number of destinations where you can stop-off as well as enjoy the area around such these places.

What we aim to do in this section is to offer you suggested stages in which to drive the route. These stages are in a logical sequence, starting from Coyhaique and then travelling north.

This part of the Carretera Austral will start in the northern part of the Aysen Region and then enter the southern part of the Chilean Lake Region.
