Introduction

The Patagonia Lodge began life as “Mincho’s Lodge”, but later changed hands and is now called Patagonia Lodge.

It is located a couple of kms south of the main sector of Coyhaique in its own, small oasis, with the River Simpson not far away and surrounded by trees.

Indeed, staying here is to be “cut off” from the hustle and bustle of downtown Coyhaique and feel like you are back on the Carretera Austral.

Constructed from wood and decorated inside with wood the property is every inch a lodge and along with it is a warmth and cosiness that comes with such places.

In addition to is home-cooked, food restaurant, there is a hot tub to relax in.

For those requiring a logistical night only this is a good bet and certainly it is well positioned for those arriving from the north and then heading south on the Carretera Austral. Alternatively, if you need a few nights rest then this, too, will serve that purpose.

About

The Patagonian lodge is a 20-room, rustic and authentic lodge in every sense of what a lodge means.

The wooden exterior as well as the interior, together with log-burning fires, and family-style furniture all combine to create a welcoming and cosy ambience.

On one side there is a view out to the valley and woods.

Hotel Dreams, Coyhaique, Carretera Austral Patagonia

Introduction

The Hotel Dreams is a modern 40 room hotel that also offers a heated swimming pool, sauna, and convention centre as well as restaurant of course.

It also incorporates a casino as in the type of place where you go to play the slot machines, blackjack and roulette.

Although the style of this hotel is nothing to do with other, lodge-style properties, found along the Carretera Austral, it does offer decent hotel room accommodation and, if you fancy a break from the abundance of nature then this city-style hotel will fit the bill.

About

Hotel Dreams is part of the national Dreams Hotel chain in Chile whereby the hotels also include a casino on their premises.

The interior decoration of the common areas is a mix of wood and natural stone, with well-chosen floor tiles too. And, as with many city-style hotels, the ground floor is spacious.

The Coyhaique Dreams hotel offers 40 guest rooms, each decorated in a modern way reflecting the style usually found in a city-located property.
