The Hotel Arakur sits on its own platform next to a pine wood high above Ushuaia at the entrance end of the city within the Natural Reserve Cerro Alarken.
It offers top-end facilities such as its spa, indoor and outdoor pools, fine dining, well stocked wine cellar, and spacious, well-furnished and decorated rooms with wonderful views over the city or to the mountains behind.
The Hotel Arakur was opened towards the end of 2017. It is a large 109-room hotel perched on its own levelled platform of earth in the middle of a natural reserve called Cerro Alarken. From its vantage point visitors get panoramic views over Ushuaia city as well as to the Beagle Channel.
Its lower, stone cladded exterior blends into the natural surroundings and once inside, the polished wooden walls, stone walls and columns together with the large, shiny floor tiles emit an image of space and affluence.
Rooms are all finished to a high standard, spacious and with views either to the Beagle Channel or the mountains. The restaurant offers fine dining combined with top wines and the relaxing facilities of spa and pools make for a nice place to stay pre, or post, an Antarctic Expedition or Patagonia Cruise.
