Valle Nevado Hotel Tres Puntas is designed specifically with the skier who does not want to spend too much on their accommodation. Typically, this will mean younger people who do not demand much in the way of more comfortable surroundings, when all they want to do is ski.

Tres Puntas offers 82 guest rooms. The hotel building is physically located about 150m from the central, and main Valle Nevado hotel complex.

About
Hotel Tres Puntas is a simple hotel with no frills. It is designed totally for the younger end of the market where guests are not particularly demanding with regards to accommodation comfort and facilities.

It offers 82 guest rooms, each one with “sufficient” space and en-suite bathrooms.

Guests will receive half board when they stay here with breakfast served in the Sur Restaurant and dinner, with a reservation, in the Mirador del Plomo restaurant.

Physically the hotel is built into the mountain side, running off horizontally from the main car park in front of the principal Valle Nevado complex, from which it is about 150m from.

There is a Tres Puntas bar, open from 17:00hrs for after ski drinks. However, on the top floor there is a pub with pool tables.

Ski guests in Tres Puntas will also have free access to the fitness centre with sauna as well as aerobics and stretching classes. In addition, guests can use the small, outdoor, heated pool the other side of the Hotel Puerta del Sol.

Other services include a child day care for kids between 3 to 7 years of age (open between 09:00hrs – 13:00hrs and 14:00hrs – 18:00hrs).

WiFi is available throughout the hotel and in the rooms, there is cable television.

Ski Lift Tickets
Lift tickets are valid to the end of the day BEFORE check-out day. However, if you ski on the final day you will be given a day pass for that day as long as you check-out before 10:00hrs on check-out day.

Valle Nevado is located in its own, micro valley, behind the other ski centres of La Parva, Farellones and El Colorado 46km southeast from Las Condes in Santiago.

The Hotel Valle Nevado is part of the overall Valle Nevado ski centre.

Getting Here

The access road to Valle Nevado is the same road that begins from the Santiago eastern suburb of Las Condes and heads up the mountain leading to Farellones, whereupon the road forks left to get to Farellones, El Colorado and La Parva, and forks right to continue on to Valle Nevado.

The road distance from Las Condes to Valle Nevado is 46km and will take about 1.5hrs to drive from Las Condes.

Note: The road leading up to La Parva, El Colorado, Farellones and Valle Nevado has restrictions of direction. On Weekends, and public holidays it is one way only going up between 08:00hrs to 14:00hrs. Then it is one way only coming down between 16:00hrs and 20:00hrs. There are fines if you are caught going in the wrong direction at the wrong time, as well as it being dangerous.

Helicopter
However, there is also an option to fly in from Santiago by helicopter, which takes 15 minutes and offers incredible panoramic views over the Andes.

Within the Valle Nevado ski resort the Hotel Puerta del Sol is considered to be the “mid-range-level” hotel. This is to say that it is not the best and not the simplest.

This hotel is designed for people who want a decent and comfortable place to stay, but with none of the other luxury add-ons. Rooms are practical. Those facing north have small, exterior terraces with views down the valley and to the tops of the Andes.

The hotel forms the northern side of the main, central Valle Nevado complex and from the lobby area there is direct access to the small, outdoor pool, kid’s zone, internet centre, bar and restaurant, as well as a “hop” to the piste.

About
Hotel Puerta del Sol offers 121 guest rooms in the tall building that forms the northern side of the Valle Nevado central complex.

The idea behind Puerta de Sol is for Valle Nevado to be able to offer three levels and styles of hotels for different budgets and tastes. Puerta del Sol “sits in the middle” of the higher-end hotel and the lower-end hotel.

Rooms in this hotel are practical, not extravagant, and “do their job” so to speak. If your primary reason to stay at Valle Nevado is to ski then Puerta del Sol is fine, however, if you want a more spacious and comfortable room at night you need the other hotel called Hotel Valle Nevado.

Ski Programs
Within the Puerta del Sol Ski Week programs the following is included:
Half Board: (dinner on check-in day, to breakfast on check-out day).

The 121 guest rooms in the Hotel Puerta del Sol are suitable for all, however, there is a slant on making them “family friendly” more than in the other two hotels in Valle Nevado. For example, there are options with connecting rooms.

Each room has a small bay window area and on the north side rooms there is also a small exterior balcony. The views on the south-facing rooms are down to the central courtyard of the hotel and on the direct opposite side the rooms face north with views down the valley and over the tops of the Andes.

The Valle Nevado Ski resort comprises three, different hotels, each offering a varied level of comfort and facilities for ski guests. The idea behind this is to offer accommodation for people with different demands and available budgets.

Hotel Valle Nevado is categorised as the best of the three hotel options.

The hotel predominately occupies a “wing” of the overall resort positioned in such a way whereby the northern-side rooms face the ski slopes and the southern side rooms look down to the almost vertical-drop valley below. The rooms have small balconies, and it is easy to ski directly onto the piste from the hotel lobby area.

It offers 51 guest rooms, including suite rooms and access to the French restaurant called La Fourchette. Other hotel facilities include Wi-Fi, a spa, fitness centre, and bar. There is also an exterior, heated, circular pool.

This hotel is part of both Chilean, and skiing history. Chile skiing hotel Portillo is the place where the skiing World Cup was first discussed prior to it starting. It was also the first ski resort in Chile.

The hotel comprises one, elongated block, coloured yellow on its exterior, situated at the base of the mountain bowl that surrounds the building. It is also close to an Andean Lake (lago del Inca), the Chilean border with Argentina and at the top of numerous hair-pin bends in the road leading down the valley.

Family Gatherings

The hotel is famous for being a “South American Family Winter Resort Hotel” because the atmosphere is cosy and familiar, and families like to return each year to meet up with friends.

One great benefit of the hotel is that it offers ski in and ski out direct to the pistes and lift network.

Lake Side View Single or Double
Lake View rooms are available for single or double occupancy with either a queen size bed or two twin beds, as well as a full bathroom. With a breath taking view of the lake, the “Tres Hermanos” mountains and some of the ski runs, these coveted rooms have the perfect scene to wake up to.

Valley Side View Single or Double
Valley View rooms are available for single or double occupancy with either a queen-size bed or two twin beds, and private full bathroom. With fabulous views of the surrounding mountain valley and snowy peaks. Valley View rooms are a value alternative to the lake view rooms.

6th Floor Single or Double
Rooms on the sixth floor are larger lake view rooms. Available with one queen or two twin beds, these rooms are also equipped with a balcony with panoramic views. The elevator only reaches the fifth floor, so guests choosing this option have to walk up one flight of stairs.

Suite Rooms
Suites are located on the second and sixth floors, and all have Lake Views with a balcony. Each suite has a bedroom with a King Size bed and a private bathroom, as well as a living room. Large windows provide panoramic views of the lake.

Family Apartments
Family apartments, available with lake view or valley view, consist of two interconnected bedrooms: one with either two twin beds or a queen bed and the other with two or four bunk beds as well as one or two bathrooms. Family apartments are the perfect room for groups or families of four to six people that want to stay together.

Family Apartments (with 2 bathrooms)
The 2-bathroom family apartments are made up of two interconnected rooms: one with two beds or a double bed; and the other with four bunk beds. It is the ideal room for groups or families of a minimum of five and a maximum of six people (at least 2 adults) and have a view of the valley or the Laguna del Inca.

Portillo Chalets (private cabins)

In Portillo Ski Resort we can find the Chalets, next to Portillo Hotel, featuring all the comfort and privacy of a luxury cabin, but providing the services of a mountain-style hotel.
There are eight chalets made for 4 to 8 persons. Passengers accommodating in chalet have their meals in the main dining room of the hotel and access to all the services and facilities.

The chalets are located close to the hotel and vary in capacity, housing from four to eight guests. These retro-designed chalets boast gorgeous lake views and perfectly combine the comfort and privacy of a mountain cabin with all the services and convenience of the hotel.
Chalets are an ideal option for groups wanting a more intimate setting while still being able to enjoy all the mountain and hotel activities. Ski in-ski out access to the slopes combined with a private living room and small kitchen provide a different experience than the hotel. Guests still enjoy access to all the hotel services and have their meals in the hotel dining room.

Type of ski chalet
Chalet A1 is the only A-frame chalet. With a living room featuring striking lake and mountain views and a working fireplace, A1 has a capacity for up to seven people, with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The master bedroom has a queen-size bed while the other two have bunk beds, one accommodating three people and the other two people.

Chalet B1
Chalet B-1 has a capacity of up to eight people, with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The master bedroom has a queen-size bed and private bathroom and is great for couples, while the additional rooms have bunk beds, one for four people and the other two people. B1 has a large living room with a balcony overlooking the lake.

Chalet B2
The largest chalet, B2, can house up to eight guests, with four bedrooms and three bathrooms. The main level has a master bedroom with a queen size bed and bunk beds for two. The lower floor has a bedroom with twin beds and a room bunk beds for two. The top level has a large living room area with a balcony overlooking the lake.

Chalet C1 and C4
Chalet C1 and C4, the smallest chalets are perfect for groups from four to six guests, with a small kitchen space that doubles as a living room. They have two bedrooms and two bathrooms, a matrimonial room with queen-size bed and private bathroom and a bunkbed room for four people with a second bathroom.

Inca Lodge

Located just steps away from the main entrance of the Hotel Portillo, the Inca Lodge is the most economical lodging option, similar to hostel style accommodation. Inca Lodge ski-week and mini-week packages include lift tickets, meals and lodging. This is an ideal option for younger travellers as well as other skiers on a budget. Guests from the Inca lodge enjoy meals in the hotel cafeteria.

The bedrooms are simple, with a capacity for up to four guests, which are shared with guests of the same gender. The building has one bathroom for males and one for females with multiple showers, toilets and sinks. There is the option to close the room off to your own group of two or three people, at an additional fee.

Packages in the Inca Lodge include lift tickets for the week, as well as four meals daily in the hotel Cafeteria (breakfast, lunch, tea, and dinner.) For an additional fee, guests may request to enjoy their meals in the dining room. The Octagon Lodge is a comfortable and more affordable lodging option located adjacent to Hotel Portillo. The Octagon is ideal for small groups of up to four people and popular with friends or families that want to stay together while enjoying all the hotel services and meals in the hotel dining room.

The Octagon Lodge is traditionally booked per person. Guests traveling by themselves will be combined with other guests of the same gender. Groups wishing to stay together simply need to mention it upon booking. If fewer than four guests prefer to have a private Octagon room, that can be arranged at an additional cost.

Recommended for
Ideal for a small group of friends or a family – up to four people. If you are a solo traveller, the Octagon is a great option as well, getting to share the room with fellow skiers that quickly become friends.

The octagon-shaped two-story building offers comfortable bedrooms for groups of up to four, with two bunk beds and a private bathroom. The top level rooms have balconies with views of the surrounding mountains. Due to COVID protocols these rooms will only be booked for 4 people traveling together.

Octagon Lodge room (3 people)
The building offers spacious rooms with bunk beds for groups of up to 4 people and each room has a private bathroom. The rooms on the second floor have a balcony. Due to COVID protocols, Octogon lodge rooms will only be reserved for people who are traveling together

The Chile Ski Hotel Posada Farellones is over 80 years old and firmly established as part of Chilean folklore history. It is particularly noted for being a rustic, small, Swiss style hotel built from natural wood and stone, which combines to create an immediate cosy environment.

The good things about Chile Ski Hotel La Posada Farellones is that it is centrally heated and offers a large communal living room with open fireplace, table games, play station, and a satellite t.v.. In addition, there is a restaurant, ski room with boot drying facilities and daily transfers to La Parva and El Colorado ski centres. There is also a large, indoor jacuzzi for guests.

Lunch is served in the hotel restaurant between 13-17hrs and supper is from 20:00hrs.

About

The La Posada Hotel of Farellones is a firmly established part of Chilean skiing history. It was one of the first hotels to be established in a ski centre over 80 years ago. At the time it was built along the lines of a “Swiss style” mountain lodge hotel maid from wood and stone with cosy rooms.

Today the original style is still evident, however, rooms have been upgraded as have other parts of the hotel to keep it more in trend with today’s guests’ demands.

The Ski Hotel Posada Farellones is located very close to the junction where the road road splits left to Farellones, La Parva and El Colorado, and to the right to Valle Nevado. About 100m past this junction, on the left side of the main road leading up to Farellones village is the entrance to the hotel.

In order to get to Farellones you need to take the mountain road up to all the Santiago ski centres and this starts at the eastern end of the Las Condes district of Santiago. The road continues in an upward direction, around numerous curves, until reaching a junction whereupon turning left leads to La Parva and turning right leads to Valle Nevado.

Farellones is about 43km by road from Las Condes and it will take around 1.5hrs to get here allowing for traffic and navigating all the curves. Naturally, if ExperienceChile.Org is arranging your ski week at Farellones, we will include the up and down transfers required.

La Parva, as has been described in the Ski Resort Profile, is mainly a residential village whereupon there are no hotels – yet. Therefore, for visiting skiers who wish to stay overnight there is only the option of self-catering apartments. One particular apartment building set up for ski weeks is the Nueva La Parva.

The Chile skiing Nueva La Parva apartment building contains two categories of apartment. One is defined as Standard and the other is allocated the definition of Superior.

In total there are 38 apartments offering a total of 250 beds.

About

The actual Nueva La Parva building is not new and the apartments within offer simple and practical apartments. Each one offering a small kitchenette, lounge with large window opening on to a small terrace. In addition, there is also an outdoor heated communal swimming pool.
For those who stay at Nueva La Parva there is also daily maid service for cleaning and towel change as well as a babysitter service if required.
The location of the apartment block is reasonably close to the Manzanito ski piste and lifts for easy skiing access.
Ski guests can rent ski gear locally as well as book ski lessons and lift tickets.
Check-in is from 17:00hrs.
Check-out is before 12:00hrs (midday).

The Nueva La Parva apartment complex is located in a central sector of the La Parva ski village.

In order to get to La Parva ski village it is necessary to take the road from the Las Condes district of Santiago and drive up and round numerous hair-pin curves.
Eventually all transport will arrive to a fork in the road whereupon continuing right will lead to Valle Nevado, but turning left will lead to firstly Farellones, which is 34km from the Santiago district of Las Condes. Further along by 5km, as well as up (in altitude), the mountain is El Colorado and then a further 7km along and up is La Parva.

Nueva La Parva Apartment Types
The apartments are categorised as 6 people or 8 people capacities.

6 Person Apartment
Offer two bedrooms with one full bathroom plus one WC room, living room, small kitchen, terrace, ski hall, central heating, cable t.v and music system. On the outside there is car parking.

8 Person Apartment
These offer three bedrooms and two bathrooms. Small kitchen, living room, central heating, but also a small corner fireplace in the living room; terrace. And car parking outside.
