Start & End: South Sector of El Chalten (at the end of 23 Route, next to the ranger station & the visitor station)

Trek Time: 1hr 30min return

Distance: 2km one way

Season: All year round

Mirador de las Agilas Trek

Start & End: South Sector of El Chalten (at the end of 23 Route, next to the ranger station & the visitor station)

Distance: 4km return

El Chalten from El Calafate

Pick up from your accommodation in El Calafate at 07:00 hrs. The trip takes 2 hrs. and 30 minutes approx. We will take the 40 route, which goes along the border of the Argentino Lake, we will make a small stop at la Hotel La Leona, where we will have time for a snack. The itinerary below will include the trek to the base of the towers, the area beside the lagoon at the feet of the three needle-carved, vertically-sided towers of granite rock; the French Valley with its hanging glaciers and steep-sided valley walls, and the amazing Glacier Grey coming down from the Southern Ice filed to meet Grey lake and where it breaks off into glaciers. And, of course, the numbingly stunning natural wilderness scenery that accompanies every point of the path you will be walking along.

It has a 5km long, vertical wall of glacial ice face rising to heights of around 60m flowing some 30km from its source in the Andes Mountains.
